I am often asked by parents, how they can get their babies to sleep through the night. There are a lot of things that you can do to make your life easier. So, if you are having trouble getting you baby to sleep through the night, here a few tips that could help change your nights around.

1. Make sure they are eating enough during the day.

This is a very good place to start when you are having trouble getting your little one to sleep well at night. Most babies depending on their weight, need to consume between 20 to 30 oz of breast milk or formula within the day. They also need to be going at least 3 hours between feedings.

2. Set a night-time routine

A night time routine is a must for newborns early on. Most parents wait until their babies are over tired before they start their nightly routine. Babies need to know what is coming next. So, whatever you do at night with your baby, do it at the same time every night. That way they will know when bed time is.

3. Sound Machine

This is my favorite of them all. But I must admit that when I first start using a white noise sound machine during my newborn care jobs, I wished it would go away…lol!

It didn’t take me long to realize that babies loved it. Why? Well because they spend 9 months of their little lives in the womb. The sounds in the womb is one that calms and soothes them. So, why not make them feel like they are back in a place of comfort! And I have yet to find a baby who didn’t like it.
